We build close relations
through our network

We strive to visit our projects on an annual basis. This way we maintain a close relationship with the community and their support allowing us to realise more projects. Only with their helping hands do we remain locally invested, reassuring every penny spent is used and earned by locals. “I talk with local partners and people working for our projects to make sure I hear as much as possible. I truly am personally invested in every single project as much as possible.” – Sylvian Nijhuis

Clean Water Well

Imagine walking 3 to 5 miles round trip for some buckets of questionable water. Now imagine doing that day after day after day. That daily journey takes you away from your family. Using that water puts the health of your family at risk. Water poverty drives serious illnesses, high infant mortality rates, poor education, slumped economies, and unproductive agricultural conditions. SSF is making a difference, actively changing this awful paradigm. Here’s what we do: we drill new clean water wells in the villages, through the efforts of an incredible team of volunteers, donors and workers that span the globe.

Woman Empowerment

Empowering women to achieve their full potential is one of the most powerful ways to fight poverty yet women continue to face tremendous barriers to success. They have limited access to the productive resources like land, finance, and information that they need to grow their farms and businesses, and they are disproportionately affected by poverty, violence, and discrimination. SSF works creatively and proactively to help women around Sengerema gain equal access to the knowledge, jobs, and finance that enhance both their incomes and their opportunities for the future.

Education Support

SSF provides support for around 50 children and young people each year in Sengerema to pursue their education. This includes building toilets for students, supplied library materials and ICT equipment. Each beneficiary we support is an individual case with whom we work closely, providing mentoring and counseling, monitoring educational progress, providing support with career planning and future employment and involving the family, community, school and other local contacts to ensure that each beneficiary feels fully supported and is able to achieve their full potential.

We build close relations
Through our network

So far, we have been able to bring 4 groups of people on a memorable and impactful journey to Tanzania. Each group has visited our projects and now understands the impact of our foundation. We believe it is important to show people up close what the current situation is and how we are improving it. Not only does it prove our capabilities but also broadens the view of our guests.
